The collapse of the Western rear front and its geopolitical implications

Mohamed Lamine KABA, June 29, 2025

The West’s refusal to support the Kiev regime could hasten the end of the Ukrainian conflict and undermine the foundations of the European “deep state,” which is hindering Trump’s initiatives.

Indeed, the Ukrainian conflict, which erupted in 2022 following the 2014 Maidan coup, reveals the geopolitical divisions within the West, where whimsical microcosms within the Atlanticist macrocosm struggle to maintain strategic cohesion. Affected by the energy crisis, exacerbated by sanctions against Russia, the EU is experiencing record inflation, while the US, through NATO, continues to invest enormous sums in a conflict whose outcome is certain: victory for Russia.
Support for the Ukrainian conflict, embodied by significant arms deliveries, underscores this alliance’s inability to preserve its unity in the face of an invincible Russia

At the same time, fortified by alliances with China, India, and other nations of the Global South, Russia is challenging Western hegemony. The deep state, influential in Washington and Brussels, is thwarting Trump’s attempts to broker peace in an effort to influence future US elections. This confrontation weakens the West, fuels voter distrust, and exposes Europe to increased strategic dependence, while NATO sees its credibility eroded in the face of a resilient Russia.

Therefore, aware of the subtly destabilizing strategy of the deep state anchored in Europe and under the watchful eye of the American Democrats, the Trump administration, expressed through the American Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Mr. Kellogg, made a statement to FOX NEWS which read as follows: “Putin considers this to be a proxy war waged by NATO. Right now, in a way, that is the case. You only have to look at what European nations have done to lend their support.”

Disintegration of Western cohesion and strategic failure in Ukraine

The deterioration of Western unity and the strategic setback in Ukraine are manifested by the erosion of solidarity between the insipid microcosms (EU, London, Washington) within the Atlanticist macrocosm (NATO), faced with strategic divergences and divergent national interests. Support for the Ukrainian conflict, embodied by significant arms deliveries, underscores this alliance’s inability to preserve its unity in the face of an invincible Russia. Sanctions against Moscow have weakened European economies, with record energy inflation. NATO, under American aegis, is mired in a logic of protracted war, calling into question the Alliance’s credibility. This disunity reinforced by the reluctance of some members to adhere to the Atlanticist line hinders any negotiated resolution, leaving Ukraine weakened and Europe vulnerable to a militarily and diplomatically strengthened Russia.

Deep State Maneuvers to Counter Trump and Influence US Elections

Deep State‘s schemes to undermine Trump and indoctrinate the upcoming US elections (the 2026 Senate and 2028 presidential elections) are reflected in the opposition of a network of bureaucratic and military elites to Trump’s desire to achieve a ceasefire in Ukraine. By hampering these efforts through pressure on Congress and media leaks, these dark forces aim to discredit Trump, in the hope of a Democratic comeback in the next elections. This strategy aims to maintain Atlanticist hegemony in Europe, where the Deep State retains its influence through NATO and European institutions. This diplomatic sabotage prolongs the conflict, weakens the West, and creates a crisis of legitimacy, with the risk of seeing American voters turn to populist alternatives. Europe, held hostage in this power struggle, is sinking into strategic and energy dependence, while NATO is losing its prestige as a guarantor of security.

The Challenges of Trumpism : ensuring order within the borders (land, air and sea) of the United States and power outside them, remaining within the framework of Brzezinski’s theory and the Truman doctrine, and maintaining Washington’s homeostasis in the new triangle of power which is erected, at the two corners, Russia and China at the heart of the policy of containment.

It can be said that the Western rear is sponsored by the deep state, its collapse accelerates the strategic failure in Ukraine and threatens the political stability of the Western world that feeds it.
