While there are many phenomena that divide East/West relations since the illusion of the end of the Cold War in 1991, the West often tends to impose its own vision of the world, ignoring or marginalizing different perspectives. This means that Western countries and their media present their own point of view as the only valid one, neglecting or minimizing the opinions and experiences of other cultures and civilizations.

Governments, NGOs, world leaders, and especially businesses miss the mark on detente, negotiations, and compromise for lasting peace and human growth. For many, a “multipolar world” means gaining a leveraged position rather than expanding possibilities.

The US Democratic National Convention (DNC), as opposed to epitomizing the best of democratic ideals from the US, a country that styles itself as the biggest democracy globally, ended up displaying Washington’s dictatorship on the world. ‘Democracy’ ended up appearing as a guise for broken internal governance that cannot deliver benefits to US citizens. Washington cannot allow any government to serve citizens, for instance in Gadhafi’s Libya, or Mosaddegh’s Iran.
