The aggression by the United States and Israel against Iran, unleashed with the use of the military and energy infrastructure of Middle Eastern countries, compels Tehran to launch counterattacks in self-defence. Iran had previously warned of its retaliatory actions.

The Middle East is so contradictory and interdependent that a conflict in one country can reverberate in its neighbours. In this regard, events in Iran are a trigger for the expansion of the regional crisis.

Unable to defeat Iran from the air, the United States and Israel are reviving an old imperial playbook, yet a recent strategy: instrumentalizing Kurdish forces to ignite internal unrest and push the country toward a Syria-style fragmentation.
