Just hours after the world leaders signed the Gaza ceasefire deal, Israel violates the ceasefire – raising concerns over the credibility of the agreement.

Israel’s Violations Undermine Trump-Brokered Gaza Ceasefire
According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), thousands of tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered in Gaza. However, it states, “Much more can be done. For this to happen, the humanitarian community needs more crossings to open, as well as the sustained entry of fuel and cooking gas; security guarantees for convoys; basic infrastructure to be restored; protection of humanitarian workers; the facilitation of NGO access, including through ensuring they are not de-registered; and the rapid injection of funding to support humanitarian operations.”
Phase Two Begins Amid Confusion and Contradictions
Hamas returned all the Israeli hostages in compliance with the conditions of phase one of the ceasefire agreement. U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged the fulfillment of the conditions by Hamas in his social media post. He stated, “All 20 hostages are back and feeling as good as can be expected. A big burden has been lifted, but the job is not done.” He also announced the start of the second phase of the ceasefire agreement by stating, “The dead have not been returned, as promised! Phase Two begins right now!!!” However, Hamas also returned the dead bodies of the deceased Israeli hostages on October 14, hours after Trump’s post. Nonetheless, Israel continues to violate the ceasefire agreement, raising concerns over its persistence and endurance.
Peace Plan or Political Ploy? The Broader Geopolitical Agenda
People across the world know that the Trump-backed Israel-Hamas ceasefire is fragile and Israel holds a track record of violating peace agreements with its rivals. It is important to note that Israel agreed to the ceasefire only after flattening the whole Gaza enclave. However, the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) recent genocidal operations in Gaza failed to dismantle Hamas’ guerrilla networks. Despite two years of indiscriminate bombing in the Gaza Strip, the IDF is unable to completely eliminate Hamas. This inability and incompetence of the IDF coerced the Zionist state and its supporter, the United States, to sign a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. However, the latter has not agreed to all the conditions of the proposed peace plan.
In phase one, both sides adopted some confidence-building measures like the exchange of hostages and withdrawal of the IDF to some key regions of Gaza. However, conditions like the disarmament of Hamas and its complete withdrawal from the Gaza Enclave are to be discussed in the second phase of the negotiations. Israel’s purported ambition behind its genocidal operations in Gaza was to eliminate and disarm Hamas. On the other hand, the latter fought for its survival as the protector of the rights of the Palestinians. In the last two years, the IDF has strengthened Hamas support among the Palestinians by intentionally killing civilian women and children.
Apparently, this proposed plan was announced to achieve some critical regional and international Israeli ambitions. The US president, Donald Trump, along with the US deep state, has always provided unconditional support to the Zionist regime. President Trump has always presented his role in the Abraham Accords as one of his greatest accomplishments. In August, he stated that he wants all countries in the Middle East to forge formal diplomatic ties with Israel. The recent so-called 20-point Gaza peace plan is a part of his strategy to add all Arab and Muslim states to the Abraham Accords, to provide Israel’s genocidal operations global legitimacy, and to weaken the Palestinian cause. Notably, all the major Muslim states, except Iran, accepted this ceasefire agreement and continue to exert pressure on Hamas to surrender to the IDF.
The recent ceasefire agreement has provided all the Arab and Muslim countries with an opportunity to forge diplomatic ties with Israel. However, people throughout the Muslim world are critical of this so-called peace plan. In Pakistan, TLP, the largest Islamic political party, has already warned against the country’s recognition of Israel and launched a protest to express solidarity with the Palestinians, stating that Trump’s 20-point peace plan was a “conspiracy to subjugate the Palestinian people.” However, the government has launched a severe crackdown against all its leaders and workers to dismantle the party. The TLP claims that hundreds of its workers have been killed during this operation on 13th October. However, the government denies all such claims and holds that only three protesters were killed in violent clashes while dismissing the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s allegation of hiding the information.
It seems that all the Muslim governments around the world are ready to establish formal ties with Israel. The Zionist state, on its part, will only wait for its inclusion in the Abraham Accords to continue its genocidal operations in Gaza to materialize the “Greater Israel” ambition. Meanwhile, the potential disagreement by Hamas over the disarmament issue could lead to a deadlock between the two sides and provide the Israeli state with an opportunity to continue its war crimes and genocide in Gaza. It will also provide the Muslim leaders a narrative to reassure their citizens by accusing Hamas of the potential violation of the ceasefire agreement.
