With Obama Gone, Who Will Champion Regime Change?

Phil Butler, February 14

4532442What does it mean when former President Barack Obama leaves office and the next day the bullhorn on Syria stops? I was just reviewing news on Russia’s role in Syria, when I noticed Google News is nearly devoid of the fantastic claims from outlets like BBC News. Is mainstream media stymied over what to say and do with a Trump State Department in place?

Search “Syria” in Google, then hit the “news” tab. The results you get are a mixed bag of real and so-called “fake news” from an alphabet soup of media. Lead stories Sunday morning included; a Guardian piece on Sundance Film Festival, the Boston Globe on slow going for Turkish forces, and other relatively mundane news. Now filter the results for “Syria” by date. I used January 1, 2016 until the end of December, just before Mr. Trump took office. Guess what?

The Washington Post, Huffington Post, The Atlantic, Bloomberg, The New York Times, Reuters, CNN, US News & World Report, the whole kitchen sink of Obama White House parakeets were singing the same tune! The Huffington Post added the capper of all unhappy endings December 16th 2016 with; “Outraged By What’s Happening In Syria? Here’s What You Can Do”. And I quote from this Obama “out” lament on alleged Assad and Russia war crimes:

“The sheer immensity of a global tragedy like the one unfolding in Syria may leave you feeling helpless. But you can get involved. Here are ways to support the innocent people suffering through what the U.N. has called the biggest humanitarian crisis of our time.”

The distance between presidential administrations being one swearing in moment, it’s something extraordinary that so much vehement peace loving, bleeding heart liberalism for a nation most people cannot find on a map just vaporized! There is even a link so that caring Americans reading Huff Po could invite refuges into their homes! The Urban Justice Center, which makes good use of at least $600,000 dollars George Soros gave them, is recommended by Huff Po for disparaged snowflakes. Yes, the Huffington did their best to “train” readers to continue the fight to change the regime in Syria, but apparently Clinton and Obama supporters never really had their heart in Aleppo in the first place. Small wonder, huh?

Zero Hedge tells the story of the “movement” to adopt refugees and terrorists, but the liberal message being diverted is of interest now. In late 2016 then Secretary of State John Kerry fired a final and parting and damning shot at Assad calling Aleppo “a massacre” by government forces. The New York Times fired barrage after barrage ad nauseam over Aleppo hospitals hit, Russia and Iran being opportunists, and etc. Billionaire Jeff Bezos’ Washington Post harped on John McCain’s calls for total war some more, and then came Trump, and then the media guns fell silent. On Syria at least.

Since Trump took office the biggest bullhorn message from liberal media has been the travel ban that included Syria. Die hard anti-Assad media and activist NGOs still harp on sensational claims, like the one The Guardian reported Amnesty International’s claims Assad hanged tens of thousands, including 13,000 killed or tortured at Saydnaya prison. My point is well made with these allegations though. If Barack Obama were still in office BBC and German public television would have pre-prepared specials with pre-ordained experts who just happen to be Al-Nusra or Al-Qaeda operatives. I know most readers identify here, especially those who’ve followed the real Syria expert, British investigative journalist Vanessa Beeley. Her “Journey to Aleppo” series blew the whistle on the White Helmets, and on the supposed “Moderate Opposition” mercenaries the Obama administration ushered into Syria.

The focus shifted after Aleppo was lost, and particularly once Hillary Clinton lost the US presidential election. Now the mainstream media does not know what to do with itself. Anti-Trump rhetoric and allegations burn now. Somehow Amnesty seems to be the only group with a cohesive purpose now, because clicking on an Assad torture story today carries readers to Anti-Trump ads at Amnesty Internat4ional’s site!

Gee, I wonder if all this regime change editorial and news is coming from the same source? But where could that be, now that Barack Obama is gone? Herein lies a great quest, finding out who is like George Soros. Who are the globalists that care so much for Syrians and the rest of us?
