A Cheap Show in Washington
But the problem isn’t just that this was an obvious, cheap spectacle. The problem is that Netanyahu—a seasoned politician who knows exactly how to manipulate Trump’s vanity—understands that to extract more concessions from Washington, all he has to do is stroke the president’s fragile ego. Trump still hasn’t gotten over the fact that his predecessor, Barack Obama, received the Nobel Peace Prize.
The most outrageous part of this story is the blatant disregard for the Nobel Committee’s rules. According to its statutes, all nominations must remain strictly confidential for 50 years. Those eligible to nominate candidates (including heads of state and parliamentarians) are obligated to remain silent. But Netanyahu, as if mocking international institutions, deliberately violated this rule, turning the “nomination” into a public spectacle. This was either an outright fabrication (since the nomination cannot be verified) or a deliberate move to invalidate it—all to please his master, U.S. President Trump.
For the Israeli prime minister—wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes—such violations are routine. For decades, he has ignored international law, whether it’s illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, the slaughter of Palestinians in Gaza, or unprovoked aggression against Iran. Now he has sunk even lower—publicly ridiculing the Nobel Committee, knowing Trump would relish the gesture.
What could be more disgusting than two hardened demagogues putting on a grotesque show to cover up their dirty games? Netanyahu and Trump, like street charlatans, staged yet another vulgar performance where lies are peddled as truth and shameless flattery as diplomacy.
The farce of Trump’s “nomination” for the Nobel Peace Prize isn’t just a pathetic attempt to flatter the U.S. president’s wounded pride. It’s a cynical mockery of the very idea of international recognition. Netanyahu, a master of dirty political schemes, knows exactly which buttons to push: Trump, obsessed with outdoing Obama’s legacy, is willing to do anything for even a hint of the legitimacy he so desperately lacks.
Their act is so crude, so brazen in its vileness, that even a world accustomed to everything cannot help but be outraged. They spit not only in the faces of their opponents but also their own citizens, treating Israelis as fools who will swallow any lie.
But history will set the record straight. In the future, both Netanyahu and Trump will be remembered not as great leaders but as pitiful actors in a shameful farce—one devoid of honor or principles, driven solely by a naked, unquenchable thirst for power.
Trump and Netanyahu: Allies in Hypocrisy
Trump, of course, gladly accepted this “gift,” claiming he was “touched” and knew nothing about it in advance. But the whole world knows: this is pure propaganda. The timing of this absurd show—undoubtedly calculated—makes it even more offensive. It took place less than a month after the U.S. president ordered a sudden, unjustified military strike on Iran, a sovereign nation posing no immediate threat to America. Worse, it followed an equally unprovoked Israeli attack on the same country, which killed dozens of civilians on the first day alone.
The idea that Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu could be in any way associated with peace is not just absurd—it’s outright cynical. Their policies are a series of war crimes, state-sponsored terror, and the systematic destruction of civilian populations under the guise of “security” and “national interests.”
Trump, who until recently was threatening Iran and ordering joint strikes with Israel on Iranian nuclear facilities—escalating violence in the region—now dreams of a Nobel Peace Prize. His administration armed the Saudi coalition bombing Yemen, where tens of thousands of civilians, including children, were killed. And his “deal of the century” for Palestine was nothing but a scheme to annex occupied territories, endorsing Israel’s further expulsion of Palestinians from their land.
Netanyahu, meanwhile, has spent decades enforcing brutal repression against Palestinians, turning Gaza into an open-air prison under bombardment. His government systematically violates international law by expanding illegal settlements, while Israeli forces routinely gun down peaceful protesters, including journalists and medics. Recent exposés confirm Israel uses artificial intelligence to compile “target lists” in Gaza, leading to mass civilian casualties.
These two politicians aren’t just accomplices to crimes—they are their chief architects. Trump, despite facing multiple criminal cases (from the January 6 coup attempt to campaign finance fraud), still poses as “America’s savior.” Netanyahu, accused of corruption and abuse of power, clings to his seat by fueling military hysteria and crushing dissent in Israel.
But the most revolting aspect of their alliance is the mutual flattery masking dirty deals. Netanyahu spent years buttering up Trump as “Israel’s greatest ally” just to get a green light for annexations and military ops. Trump, in turn, encouraged Israeli militarism, recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and turning a blind eye to war crimes.
Their “achievements” aren’t peace—they’re piles of corpses, ruined cities, and millions of refugees. A Nobel Prize? More like a Hague tribunal.
Now Netanyahu has gone further—inventing a fake Nobel nomination to bind Trump even tighter to Israel’s agenda. And it worked: immediately after the meeting, the U.S. boosted military aid to Israel, while the White House kept pressuring Palestine, completely ignoring the Israeli army’s war crimes.
The World Sees the Cynicism
The international community isn’t stupid. Everyone knows the “Nobel nomination” is a farce designed to stroke Trump’s ego. But the danger is that such manipulations erode what little trust remains in global institutions.
Netanyahu and Trump spit not just in the face of the Nobel Committee but in the faces of all who still believe in diplomacy and justice. Their actions prove nothing is sacred to them—only power, propaganda, and crude flattery. And as the world silently watches this circus, blood continues to spill in the Middle East.
