What goes around often does come around—and sometimes, it bites us hard!
And then came the part that would have once gotten you banned from polite conversation: the so-called conspiracy theorists may have been right all along. I was even personally banned from some Facebook pages for having the audacity to suggest that there was research showing those who had been vaccinated for TB during the Soviet period had a higher degree of immune system resilience than those who had not.
It turns out the virus may indeed have leaked from a Chinese lab engaged in covert gain-of-function research—the kind that enhances the lethality or transmissibility of viruses, sometimes both, under the guise of “prevention.” And here’s the kicker: this research was funded, at least in part, by the United States government—through the National Institutes of Health (NIH), in cooperation with EcoHealth Alliance and Chinese entities.
It is worth noting that Peter Daszak, as described by Jeffrey Silverman and others, is THE key person when we talk about the origin of SARS2. Another expert who collaborates with investigating the role of military labs, and is active with a group of scientists who pursue the origin of such emerging diseases, describes Daszak as being the main culprit [in the midst of many suspicions], but that he goes about pretending that his life’s work in the interest of humanity.
Let us not forget that Republican Sen. Rand Paul had accused Antony Fauci, the highest-paid US government employee, mainly because of being paid by the US Department of Defense as well; of “lying” when he claimed that NIH did not fund gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Senator Rand Paul is from Kentucky, where Silverman also calls home, which may be why he is straight to the point.
Now, under President Donald J. Trump, the lid is finally being blown off.
Trump has issued a bold Executive Order halting all U.S. funding for outsourced gain-of-function research—especially in countries like China, where biosafety oversight is weak or non-transparent. The order is clear: if left unchecked, this research poses catastrophic risks to the American people, including:
- Widespread mortality
- A crippled public health system
- Collapsed livelihoods
- Economic devastation
- National insecurity
In short, biological recklessness with American tax dollars ends now.
What the Biden Administration Got Wrong
Under the Biden Administration, dangerous biological research continued with minimal oversight. Not only was gain-of-function research allowed to proceed domestically, but the U.S. also continued funding projects abroad—in China, Ukraine, Georgia, and other countries with little to no enforceable biosafety accountability.
This wasn’t just bad policy. It was an active gamble with global safety—one COVID-19 already proved is far too risky to repeat. It was known too, that much of such research was likely in violation of the 1972 bio weapons convention, however, if outsourced, this was a way to circumvent treaty obligations, by at least utilizing the old gambit of plausible deniability, as gain of function bio research is the foundation of bio weapons.
What the Trump Administration Now Gets Right
This Executive Order strikes a necessary balance:
- Preventing catastrophic consequences
- Ensuring biological readiness
- Driving U.S. leadership in biotechnology and countermeasures
- Strengthening biosecurity frameworks that protect—not gamble with—human life
We may not get an official apology from the experts or policymakers who once dismissed these warnings as “fringe.” But we’re finally seeing the tide turn toward truth, transparency, and accountability.
Hate to say, “we told you so”—but we did.
There is much more that can be told, for instance, about the activities of the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products (WIBP), located at The Zhengdian Gold Industrial Park, and not by happenstance located in Wuhan, with a particular focus on the Wuhan Institute of Biological Products, a vaccine development and production center which is situated next door to the Wuhan Institute of Virology
SARS-CoV-2 is a highly transmissible and pathogenic coronavirus that causes the COVID-19
Disease. That disease emerged in Wuhan in the fall of 2019 and quickly triggered a global pandemic. Only now scientists still are coming to realize, or face, the question as to whether the origin is purely natural or resulted from a laboratory accident.
Over the years, the WIBP has been alleged to have links to possible dual-purpose research, including but not limited to bio-warfare programs. For instance, the WIBP was alleged by Taiwan Intelligence reports to be an integral part of China’s bio warfare program dating back to 20 years ago, and such an allegation can be taken at face value considering the relations between Mainland China and the breakaway region.
It is clear that large vaccine production institutions such as the WIBP have the possibility to be used as dual-purpose facilities, not only for vaccines but also for bio warfare programs. The WIBP is officially a civilian company, but there is now smoking gun evidence, before, and perhaps now too, which is directly related to bio warfare programs.
What the world can, and must, demand, is that dangerous gain of function research be banned. Tampering with nature in such a way has never done any good. There is absolutely no evidence that such activities have ever made anyone safer, but rather, quite the opposite.
President Donald Trump has made a public statement to the world by issuing an executive order halting U.S. funding for outsourced gain-of-function research, especially in countries with poor biosafety standards. This move is necessary to prevent future biological disasters and restore accountability in U.S. science and technology policy—something he says the Biden administration failed to do by continuing dangerous research programs with limited oversight.
Ultimately, gain-of-function research has not demonstrably enhanced global safety, but has instead risked global catastrophe under the guise of scientific advancement. There needs to be a global ban on such experiments and greater transparency from the scientific and political establishments that supported them and turned a blind eye to the impact.
