America’s Chambrière and European Elections

In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last couple hundred years, a chambrière is a long whip that animal handlers would use to command animals around the ring in a circus. Those whips are known for the loud cracks they produce, and can inflict serious injuries should they be used for hitting a disobedient animal. But what do the ruling American elites have to do with any of this?

It doesn’t take a genius to draw a comparison between the Trump administration and a circus. The sitting US president would like to present himself as a showman, one who pulls all sorts of unexpected tricks out of his sleeves, while leaving the entire world hanging precariously. One can’t help but mention the deafening cracking of his statements, with his bellicose rhetoric against Iran or North Korea, which may soon be replaced by yet another trick – nuclear missile juggling in front of a breathless world, as if mutually assured destruction was yet another circus trick good for some cheap thrills.

It shouldn’t be any surprise then that the Trump administration gets unreasonably excited when other entertainers find employment atop the political ranks of other countries. That’s where Trump just can’t help himself, seeking to provide guidance to his fellow showmen. For sure, we’re speaking about the newly-elected Ukrainian president Vladimir Zelensky, who made a career as a well-known comedian before turning his attention toward the world of politics. For sure, everybody understands that this funny man can’t navigate the troubled waters of today’s geopolitics without a foreign handler, or a chambrière, as they call handlers in the circus world. In case anybody still dares to doubt this notion, The Washington Times puts in plain worlds that Ukraine should be tightly handled by the United States if it wants to “succeed”. The man behind the article – Wes Martin is a retired US Army colonel and he cuts right to the chase:

The United States needs to help Ukraine get back on its feet through oversight… we cannot trust the government to regulate itself. Instead, there needs to be foreign oversight.”

It seems that they don’t have much trust in the ability of the clowns in Kiev to lead the show on their own. Wait, I can hear the cracking sounds of the whip already…

Yet another example of the American circus going astray can be witnessed in the UK, even though American and British media sources would like to discuss time and time again that it’s Moscow that is interfering in the internal affairs of other states. But we’ve addressed those claims before, and we’ll do it again.

When it comes to handling his actors, Trump always uses the hands-on approach, as he has recently traveled to Britain to oversea the replacement of the lame duck Theresa May with the new favorite – Boris Johnson. The latter is a natural born showman all right, but the best part about him is that he does whatever the US wants him to do long before any whip needs to be cracked. With this sort of obedience, is it any wonder that he was nicknamed “the poodle of Washington?” It is a term coined by the Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Tim Farron. According to the Daily Mail, he would state that:

Boris has revealed himself to be a poodle of Washington, having his diary managed from across the pond. It is pretty shameful when even Trump judges you to be a buffoon.”

And even though we’ve examined his malignant nature in much detail in the past, there’s no shortage of those who would like to take a shot at Boris. For instance, the New Yorker would claim that when you’re dealing with Boris Johnson there’s the lies, the performative phrases, the layers of persona—they accrete, one on top of another, flecked here and there with Latin, until everyone has forgotten what the big deal was, while adding that Johnson’s spell as Foreign Secretary was punctuated by moments of idiocy. Is it any wonder that a BBC documentary series “Inside the Foreign Office” captured Johnson as a distracted, agenda-free buffoon?

It’s curious that after crying wolf for a total of two years over alleged Russia’s meddling in the US presidential election, Washington sees nothing wrong with stealing elections in the UK! In a leaked recording of a meeting that Mike Pompeo had with a number of Jewish lobbyists the former would state:

“It could be that Mr Corbyn manages to run the gauntlet and get elected… It’s possible. You should know, we won’t wait for him to do those things to begin to push back. We will do our level best. It’s too risky and too important and too hard once it’s already happened.”

At this point it’s clear that Washington is convinced that it’s beyond any international rules and as it would try to get away with things that it has specifically described as outrageous, unacceptable and illegal.

Why would the US “trust any government to regulate itself,” as “it’s too risky and too important and too hard once it’s already happened?” And should anyone have a difference of opinions on this matter, well, there’s a chambrière ready in clear sight, commanding obedience and fear. Nobody has the right to steal the show! Or how else can one explain the deafening silence of the British political cycles, observing Washington stealing their elections in broad daylight?
