Unfortunately, there’s a few freedom fighters that received a similar treatment. These days historic memory and cultural identity around the Globe are in dire straits. The “peacekeepers” of today are on the hunt for them, since, should they be tracked down and destroyed, whole nations would be transformed from a liberty-loving proud folk into one submissive mob. The tactics has been working admirably since the ancient Rome times, and the Western powers are not going to fix something that hasn’t been broken.
The 20th century, has marked a milestone in the people’s fight for their cultural and national identity, the most fierce face-off was between the “master” and the “free man”. And the “free” is not the one that has turned his back on his ancestors, the traditions and customs of his own kind written in the sacred books. The free is the one bearing his identity across centuries, paying no heed to political propaganda of any sorts that is seeking to destroy the legacy of the forefathers. The hegemonies has always been suppressing the locals, which resulted in a number of ancient civilizations being cleansed off the face of the Earth.
The East has proven to be resistant to this kind of oppression due to its high moral values that lie in the very heart of the Eastern religions – Eastern Orthodox, Islam, Hinduism or Buddhism. As for the African continent, it managed to preserve a diversity of cultural identities due to the strong tribal connections. The West has ultimately failed in conquering the East.
The world mourns the passing of Nelson Mandela, a person who has managed to bring freedom to his people and to see his peaceful old age. Unfortunately the list of freedom fighters that were allowed to go out peacefully is a short one.
Yasser Arafat – the former President of the Palestinian National Authority that was disconnected from life support in a French hospital. He felt ill rather unexpectedly and his health deteriorated at a rapid pace before he passed away. The Palestinian authorities has been blaming Israel for the death of their leader. According to their position Yasser Arafat was poisoned by the Israeli secret services. The fact of poisoning was established by the independent Swiss research team.
Saddam Hussein – the former President of Iraq for almost three decades, a leading member of the revolutionary Baghdad-based Ba’ath Party. He started his fight for the freedom of his people back in the 50’s and was fighting for it till his death. Back in 1998 Bill Clinton that wasn’t contended with the policy of Saddam Hussein signed an act that proclaimed the U.S. support to any efforts of bringing the Hussein regime down. In 2003 the allied forces leaded by the U.S. took control of Iraq. Saddam Hussein was accused of killings of innocent civilians and sentenced to death by hanging.
Muammar Gaddafi – the former “Brother Leader” of the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya. He put an end to Libyan monarchy in 1969, shortly after he established a Republican state in which all the incomes from oil sales were spent on the social needs of the Libyan people. He was an avid supporter of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict peaceful settlement. Gaddafi was brutally murdered by the rebel forces during the Civil War in 2011, that were helped by the Western allies. His body, marked with numerous gun wounds was put to a public display.
Hosni Mubarak – the former Egyptian President, that has been leading his country for freedom for over 30 years. After the revolution of 2011 that was staged by the West he left the office and shortly after was detained. He was accused for being connected to the death of peaceful protesters, trialed and sentenced to life on July 2 2012. Recently he has been released due to a serious health condition.
The freedom fighters, they put an end to the oppression of their people, they preserved their national identity, they gave them the right to decide for themselves, has been all killed by the West, since they were still standing in the way of its cunning plans. It’s a miracle that Nelson Mandela escaped the same fate. R.I.P.
